“Miranda is my miracle healer. I was diagnosed with plantars fascitis 2+ months before my dream trip to Spain to walk the Camino de Santiago. I did everything there was to do for it….and it got worse. I found Miranda one month before my trip. In her infinite wisdom of the body and her training in cutting edge techniques like P-DTR therapy, she pinpointed the problem (in my hips, no less). The trip was looking doable, and I decided to give it a go. I was able to walk 150 miles in Spain. Without her healing capabilities, I’d still be sitting on the couch saying “bad foot, bad foot!” Miranda is amazing! I’ve recommended her to everyone I know. And she’s a great gal!”

“I can’t believe how good I am doing after just the two PDTR sessions with you. I was able to drive to Sacramento and fly to Portland without my lower back actually hurting so bad I couldn’t hardly stand to sit so that is awesome thank you so very much for helping me!”

“I’ve been doing really good and wanted to give you more of an update. I’ve still been mountain biking a lot, and I’ve also started running more than ever before….. I’ve never run farther than a 5k before, but now I’m training for a 10k in December…..
My scapulas are still sitting flat like they’re supposed to, and my back still feels pretty good in the mornings….. I’ve actually been running first thing in the morning which is something I thought I’d NEVER want to do….
I do still have aches and pain get knotted up muscles, but I feel like I can fix the problems much easier than before using my foam roller, lacrosse ball, stretching, etc….. I feel like the “normal” state of my body is much better than before…..
A few weeks ago I had a pretty good crash on my mountain bike and was waiting to see how my body recovered…. I was pleasantly surprised to feel fine the next day…. I’ve actually either mountain biked or run nearly every day for the last few weeks.”
“Finally starting to see progress in my back thanks to Miranda @studiomchico I went to see Miranda for shoulder issues. From the very beginning she noticed both shoulders were anteriorly rotated causing some of the pain that I was feeling. As well as noticing that my posture was being affecting by my fascia. Once corrected (she used her Voo Doo Magic and rotated both shoulders back in place and loosened up my fascia allowing me to stand with proper posture for the first time in years) Miranda performed muscle testing and we found that both latissimus dorsi were not functioning properly. They literally were not working delaying any progress. Since seeing Miranda my back progress has flourished. My lats have gotten thicker and wider helping my back go from one of my weaker points to one of my strongest . I can’t wait to get back in to see Miranda. She is definitely my go to as I prep for my next bodybuilding show. If you or anyone else is dealing with any type of pain or discomfort i highly recommend Miranda”
“I came to Miranda when my shoulder and neck were hurting. After about 30 minutes of NKT/PDTR. I had more movement and less pain than when I arrived. Miranda was determined to make sure I was 100% healed and found time to meet with me for the next 2 days. She went out of her way to check on me during the days that followed and let me know that she was keeping me in mind. Her attention to the overall functioning of my whole body, and determination to find and fix the dysfunction that was causing the pain is just another example of the care she gives all her clients. Thank you, Miranda!!”

“After having three children I found myself with pelvic floor dysfunction. With Miranda’s help I avoided medical intervention. With her one-on-one guidance she showed me several exercises to do in order to strengthen all around my pelvic floor. After a couple weeks of doing the exercises my issues went away. I have continued taking Pilates classes and exercising at home and have not had any issues in over a year.”

“I am honored to share my testimonial of what Miranda McGovern and M Studio’s has done to change my life. Prior to meeting Miranda I was working long hours at a desk job and my life was very sedentary. My work had become first in my life and everything else was secondary, including me ignoring my bodies need for better health. I was 45 years old and felt like I was 65 years old in terms of health. I finally started to seek help from the medical field and discovered that I would need to have pelvic surgery done. I had high hopes that after the surgery I would feel so much better, as was the case for so many other women with the same problem that I had. After my surgery I was in chronic pain and unfortunately there was not a clear cut answer to exactly why. I had various diagnostic tests done with no reasonable diagnosis to validate the pain I was experiencing. I was unable to return to work and I started to grow depressed. I got to a point where I was determined to embark on a journey to better health both physically and mentally.
I was introduced to Miranda by a friend that knew of my chronic pain and had recently discovered that Miranda specialized in this type of pain recovery. I was skeptical because I had already seen various types of doctors with claims of treatments that could help me. Miranda was confident that my problem was just as simple as strengthening my body and putting in some hard work. My thought process at the time was, “what do I have to lose?” Part of my personal journey was to be open minded about non conventional alternatives. Miranda was not only sure of her belief but poured herself into finding some answers together. I didn’t expect this type of attention and it made me feel like I had my own personal health advocate who encouraged me every day. The hope that she gave me sometimes would bring tears to my eyes. Not only did she take a huge interest in my condition but she actually took the time to help set up physical therapy appointments. Miranda had observed during our sessions together that I was struggling with one side of my hip. Once the appointment was made she took time out of her busy schedule to come with me! While at the appointment, Miranda would ask various questions of the physical therapist to make sure they were in sync with exercises that would benefit me the most. Within weeks of seeing the physical therapist and Miranda, I actually was seeing progress and for the first time was experiencing less pain! I had so much hope at this point, which motivated me to continue to work harder.
I was never one to be excited about exercising but I found myself looking forward to each and every Pilates session I had with Miranda. I felt like I was one step closer each time to seeing more recovery and less pain for the day. Miranda inspires me and has become such a role model for what I can and want to become. I am still after more than a year of Pilates seeing improvements and am dedicated to making this discipline a part of my continuous efforts to become as healthy as I can be. I have found that I not only feel better but my attitude about taking care of myself has changed. I have also taken the time to alter the types of foods I take into my body. Learning to value my body and myself has elevated the depression that I had previously experienced. I now have more determination and confidence that I can topple more obstacles in my life and have found much more balance. Joy is included in this experience and I am so grateful for my path to have crossed Miranda and Studio M. Who in my mind I refer to as “my own little personal powerhouse!”

“I like to work out with Miranda twice or three times a week if my schedule and hers allows. I leave the studio with my body feeling warm and alive and that feeling lasts all day! After ten months I am slimmer, and stronger. I’m particularly pleased with the amount of work we do with the ball and socket joints in the hips and shoulders. My mother died a few days after a hip fracture at 83 years of age, so I’m conscious of those joints. I’m really hoping for improved scores on my next bone density scan because of all the weight bearing exercise I have been doing. I also have more flexibility and better balance and am less likely to fall because of that.”

“I have been an active person for most of my life, and I am the mother of three wonderful grown children. In my early fifties I began to notice that when I exercised, sneezed, coughed or laughed at times I would experience incontinence. Most of my exercise as an adult was focused on cardio since I really wanted to burn the fat as they say.
My first approach to this incontinence problem was to limit my fluids before I knew I was going to exercise (like a tennis match). What I discovered was that even when I altered fluid intake the desired effect (no leaking) did not necessarily happen. My next step was to consult my primary care physician. I was put on a medication to help with bladder control. I have never been one to “live” on medications so I decided not to continue this course of treatment. I consulted my physician again, and was referred to a specialist. I was told that my incontinence was a result of the process of menopause and that I needed to try hormone replacement therapy. That did not solve the problem either. As a last resort I was referred to a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic therapies. The therapist directed me to make Pilates a part of my exercise routine. I learned that Miranda McGovern had opened a new Pilates studio, and I had worked with Miranda previously with some personal training. I stopped by Miranda’s new studio signed up for a personal consultation with Miranda and told her my pelvic/incontinence history. Of course my first question for Miranda was “how often do I HAVE to come to see a difference in my condition?”. So I began attending Pilates on an average of 2-3 times weekly with Miranda as my guide. I am happy to report that after three months of Pilates on a regular basis (3x
weekly) I felt that my incontinence had improved. I was not ready to trust my body yet so I continued to monitor how I was progressing, and continued with the Pilates. I can honestly say that within about six months I was able to confidently feel that my incontinence was eliminated, yes it just disappeared. I continued with the Pilates and have now been attending classes with Miranda for 1 1/2 years and have never felt better and I am in the best physical condition of my life.
Not only did Pilates strengthen my pelvic floor muscles, it has strengthened my core muscles, my spine, my upper body and assisted with my alignment and balance. What medical science could not do for my medical condition, Pilates cured. Pilates has changed my life in multiple ways, and for that I am grateful.”
